Dear Fellow Cosmopolitans:

It is again a pleasure and honor to serve as Cosmo of the Day. I have some great memories and met many lifelong friends over the 30 years I have been associated with this fine club.

I am still with Goodman & Company but now serve as its Managing Partner.  We are currently the 29th largest CPA firm in the US with offices throughout Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. I would like to thank many of you for allowing us to serve your accounting needs over the years.

On a personal note, Rosemary and I are in our 34th year of marriage and have 2 wonderful daughters, Kari, who just received her MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and Sarah, who is recently engaged and will be enrolling in the Master of Public Administration program at Columbia University this fall.

I am proud and excited to have my wife Rosemary as our guest speaker today. She currently serves on the Virginia Beach City Council and will share with you an update of activities in Virginia Beach and some other exciting news in her political life.

CHUCKLE FOR THE DAY
Ed was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really angry. She told him, `Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in less then 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE THERE!!`   The next morning Ed got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, and brought the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.   Ed has been missing since Friday.
